Who We Are

The Antiques Emporium is a family run business based in Kendal, South Lakes, Cumbria. We opened in November 2014; providing a wide range of antiques, collectibles, retro, mid-century modern furniture, along with old books, paintings, kitchenalia, tools, jewellery, and industrial reclaimed / repurposed items.

We aim to provide our customers with a unique and special experience; and we're continually working on giving the Emporium it's own identity. Our traders regularly update and refresh their stock.

We also are the local stockists for both Frenchic Paint and Chestnut Wood Finishing Products. They are our recommended choice for all your renovation / project needs. Feel free to drop by to the shop or message us to check product availabilty.

  • What an absolute find! Came over to Kendal for a day trip, and stumbled across this gem. Gorgeous shop, something for everyone, and super helpful gentleman at the front desk who helped me hoard all my treasures as I discovered even more! Will 100% be back any time we are near.

  • My husband and I recently went here and were pleasantly surprised to find a very well priced shop (we would know, we are still students) with lots of interesting and genuine articles. You could spend hours of fun here and we most certainly did.

  • Great place to browse and shop. Individual retailers offering different goods. All kinds of retro, vintage and antique items. Prices are reasonable and good value for money. Plenty of parking available. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

  • My husband and I visited this morning. We were not expecting such a large Aladdin’s cave of treasures! We could have spent so much more than we already did- if only we lived closer! The range of eras is a dream. We saw ancient coins and artefacts, 18th and 19th century furniture, books, carvings… we were in heaven! There’s also a large range of ā€œnewerā€ items from the ā€˜50s, ā€˜60s, and ā€˜70s. And the prices… oh, the prices! My husband purchased an immaculate wool morning coat for Ā£50. A bargain if I ever did see one! We’ll definitely be back, and we can’t wait!

  • Eclectic mix of dealers covering most areas of antiques and collectables. A great way to while away a couple of hours.
